RX 6 is packed with new tools to speed up common post-production tasks, like controlling breath noises, taming harsh sibilant events, and removing mouth clicks, all of which feature prominently in this vocal sample.
Today, I want to concentrate on how you can deal with the hollow and echoey sounds that we often hear in audio strips. Those sounds don't make us feel comfortable at all. They really ruin your videos. So why not fix them while you are beginning this journey of doing video tutorials?
The hollow sounds come as a result from your recording room that is not optimized for sound. So when you record, it records other wav frequencies there. Speed of sound moves very fast. The sound that comes from your mouth reaches the microphone directly, and afterwards the sound indirectly bounces off walls, floors and ceilings. It is that distance that makes the sound to become out of sync when you record, thus creating that hollowness and echoey sound. Those sounds echoe even when you are not speaking.
One way to solve the hollow echoey sound is to put blankets around the windows and close up the recording space so that sounds can be absorbed during the recording. I have tried this many times, but sometimes that echoey sounds still remain in the audio part where you are not speaking. You hear that 'echo' effect.
Unless you have a studio with a right recording room, it is very difficult to get rid of those echo sound you hear after you speak.
Now you can listen to the audio again.

For example, have a listen to these harsh ess sounds.

The brand new Spectral De-esser makes quick work of this harshness without attenuating non-sibilant events. Here is before…

And here is after.

The new breath control module can identify and attenuate breaths relative to the loudness of the dialogue, giving you natural breath attenuation with just one click. Have a listen to these breaths before.

And here’s after we attenuate them with breath control.
May 14, 2010 One important feature missing from Chrome is that it doesn’t allow you to disable recording of history. There is the private mode (called incognito-mode) but it doesn’t record anything – not even cookies and extensions too create problems in it. So how to turn off recording of history? To start, first go into Chrome and manually clear your history by pressing Command-Y for OS X or Control-H for Windows. Click Clear Browsing Data, make sure the box “Clear Browsing History” is checked, and then select “from the beginning of time” from the drop-down menu. Here is how to disable the synchronization of browser history between your Android Chrome. How can the answer be improved?

Finally, we’ve also got some sneaky mouth sounds that can be distracting. Have a listen to this section.

To really zero in on those mouth sounds, we can use the output clicks only function in the new Mouth De-Click module.

And with one click, they’re gone.

Remove Mouth Noise In Audacity
Archived
I was finding that my mic was picking up a lot of wet mouth noises, little delightful clicks and slaps of tongue flesh against cheek, oh my. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I did some experimentation and found that by inserting three steps at the start of my chain (noise gate, then click removal, then noise gate again) I could wipe out those little sounds quite effectively. But the more I listen to it, the more I'm unhappy with it.
For one thing, the noise gating is very audible, the attack and release are very noticeable when you listen to the narration in isolation. I can live with that though, because when it's mixed in with the game audio, it's quite well disguised. However, there's a slight but noticeable distortion there, which I think is the fault of the click removal in Audacity.
One the one hand, I really appreciate not having to manually silence the mouth noise, but I wish I didn't have to compromise the clarity of my narration to achieve that.
Does anyone have any insights that they can offer on other ways to get rid of the mouth noise?
Thanks.

I notice that there are more people creating videos via the Utopian platform to help people use Open Source Projects. In creating videos, we want to create them as professionally as possible so that users can have good experience listening to our video tutorials.
I have created hundreds of videos on my Music Online School in the last 10+ years. Through a lot of trial and error, and with experiences, I have now gained a bit of skill in this area of cleaning up audio files for my video lectures.
So I hope these tutorial videos can help participants on the Utopian platform to create excellent videos for these Open Source Projects.

Even if you have an excellent microphone to dampen these sounds, your recording room is very important.

I use the audacity program to take out those echoey sound after speaking.
You need to do a little bit of work to take them out but it does the work for you. It is a multi step process so you need to be patient in cleaning them out.
Step 1: Upload your wav file onto the Audacity program
- On the Top Menu - File
- On the Drop Down Menu - Click Open - Select the File from your computer
In the wave file strip above, you see the wav sound.
Step 2: Start from the beginning of the audio
- Highlight the first empty spot
- Left Click and move cursor
You are going to start cleaning the audio sound from the beginning.
Step 3: Make those places completely silent
- Click Effect on the Menu Bar
- Drop Down Menu - Click Silence
Step 4: Completely Clean Sound Now
Now you can listen to the audio again.
- Click On the Play Button
- Let the Cursor Move through that audio part
- The hollow echoey sound is gone now
Step 5: Rinse and Repeat
- Pick all the empty spots without the sound waves
- Repeat Step 2 to Step 4
I put a red box around the places where you can clean out the hollow sounds.
My students love to watch these videos, so I have created video for you to follow along.
You can always come back to this tutorial and follow these steps when you do the actual cleaning.
Hope you enjoyed this Video Tutorial.

Laying down some vocals? Starting your own podcast? Here’s how to remove noise from a messy audio track in Audacity quickly and easily.
This is the second part in our series covering how to edit audio and create music using your PC. Be sure to check out the first part in the series, where we covered the basics of using Audacity, and then check out how to add MP3 format support as well.
Removing Noise in Audacity
Open up your file in Audacity, and find the largest contiguous silence in the track. What we’re going to do is find a baseline for the “noise” so that Audacity knows what to look for. You can play through the audio to find some silence, but once you do, hit the “Stop” button, and highlight the silence by left-clicking and dragging. It’s just like selecting anything else, really.
Next, go to Effect > Noise Removal.
You’ll see a window pop up like so:
Click on the “Get Noise Profile” button and the window will go away. Now, select the portion of the track you want to remove noise from. For me, it was everything, so I hit CTRL+A to select all.
Again, go to Effect > Noise Removal. By moving the slider for noise reduction, you’re telling Audacity how much to filter out. Higher values will be more aggressive removal, while lower values will be more subtle.
You can click the “Preview” button if you want to listen to a small snippet of your track. You can leave the other two sliders alone, and hit OK when you’re done.
How To Remove Mouth Noise In Audacity Youtube
Give your track a listen, and if you need to tweak, you can always hit CTRL+Z to undo and start over. If you reduce by too much, the track will noticeably sound a little off. It’s best to be more subtle, that way the audio still sounds natural.
The changes may not be so obvious on the waveform, so I zoomed in to illustrate the smoothing of the waveform. Here’s what it looks like before and after the effect is processed:
Enjoy your noise-free audio.
